A very interesting story about a girl who's forced to die and live again as a girl with powers because she's a part of a prophecy. The world will cease to exist if she can't stop the evil ghosts and demons from busting out of their prison in the desert. She's one of six half sisters, who as a group, try to live in a world that doesn't remember them or know them and live as regular mortals. But you can't stop fate from forcing them to do what they need to do when a handsome man crashes into Slaine or Laney's life. The attraction is fiery and instant. They try to stop themselves from falling too deep. He needs her help with the desert prison because it was the former home of his spirit people. He wants the evil spirits stopped and the desert clean of the evil spirits, so his people can return. But which is more important - saving the world or love? Both have to face that question and the answer is something they might won't like.What a fantastic series. Each novella takes approx a hour for me to read. My only pet peeve is I found out that all of the series were in a box AFTER I bought each individually. UGH. I could have saved a dollar and some time buying lol. So if you're reading this, buy the boxed series instead. I think it'd flow better if it was actually all in one book. I felt like there was a chance for this series to continue. I mean I'm curious about the other half sisters. Will they find adventure and love too?

I borrowed this book via Unlimited.
I didn't like this book at all but it wasn't because it was a bad story. It's because it just wasn't my kind of reading. The author is talented and the story line is strong with apparently good characters.
This series started out with a bang...death, taking in half sisters, being kidnapped. It makes one wonder what's going to happen next. Especially with more 16 year old sisters on the way.
This is a really great story. It is the beginning of a series, but I liked where it ended.
Most of the story is getting to know the heroine's personality and history and I really liked her as a person. She is one of seven half-sisters who are murdered by someone who claims to be their grandfather when they each reach the age of 16. Horrible! But, then then live on, and find each other (they didn't grow up together). They have powers, but don't use them much. They are very close and trying to live as normal a life as possible, even though supernatural beings sometimes try to kill them. Up until the time of the story they have mostly had a live and let live attitude, unless something is trying to hurt them, at which point they work together to take them out and then move their lives to another city to seek anonymity again. They are lovely, warm and likeable.
Towards the end of the story we meet the hero, who is an unusual and cool supernatural being I have never heard about before. He knows more about the girls than they know. He is also good looking, and seems quite likeable, but the heroine sure is going to be mad at him when she wakes up.
I look forward to the next part to find out more.
Love it when I get a unique paranormal world and an author can make me curious with a good mystery, too.
This first part of a serial story begins on a surprising prologue to introduce the heroine, Slaine, who thought she was an average teen girl until an old guy gave her a story that she was part of some prophecy, that she had to die to fulfill her potential and that half-sisters would come along every six years to find her. Weird, right? Slaine thought until it happened.
She and her sisters are now figuring their supernatural status out as they go in a world full of many unhuman races. Oh, and someone is tracking them. Slaine is tired of protecting and not knowing things. Then one night a mysterious being takes her captive.
Nicholas knows the prophecy about Slaine and her sisters. They are bred to do evil, but they haven't acted. They've practically lived as humans. He needs Slaine's help, but he is fearful that she is evil. Now she's his captive. Or is it the other way around?
This first part ended on a hot passionate note of suspense. I am definitely intrigued by the unique supernaturals that Slaine, her sisters and Nicholas are. I can't wait to see what happens next. I like Slaine and her narrative voice. Her sisters seem fun in all their quirky ways. Yep, need to get the next installment.
What a wonderful short book! I liked you series so far. Ever read any of your books before, but so far book 1was very good only wish it was longer. Hope their not all this short. Keep up you great writing.
